"The New Pokémon Snap game for the Nintendo Switch system is based on its namesake, which was first released for the Nintendo 64 console in 1999. This game will take Trainers on an adventure to unknown islands overflowing with natural sights such as jungles and beaches, where they can research various Pokémon in their natural habitats. They will take photos to make their very own in-game Pokémon Photodex, all while discovering new, never-before-seen Pokémon expressions and behaviors."[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/17/pokemon-snap-switch-official-trailer"] The New Pokemon Snap website clarifies that the game will include "deserts, jungles and more". The trailer confirms that Pokemon from multiple generations will appear in the game. The last time we saw Pokemon Snap was when it appeared on Wii U as a Virtual Console game. Back at release in 1999, we awarded the original game a 7.8/10 review, saying "through clever design, intuitive control, lots of traditional secrets and, of course, more than 60 Pokemon to snap pictures of and toy with, it's a game that is a lot of fun in spite of its seemingly simplistic design and nature." We also learned about Pokemon Cafe Mix, a free-to-start puzzle game, Pokemon Smile, a free app to help toothbrushing(!), and the fact that Mega Evolutions are coming to Pokemon Go. We'll learn even more next week, when Pokemon Presents returns on June 24 - which will contain news of another major Pokemon project.
