Cult of the Lamb is a roguelike with base management elements that enjoyed critical acclaim upon its 2022 launch. It casts players in the role of a possessed lamb saved from annihilation by an ominous stranger, and who must repay their debt by building a loyal following in his name.
Players must collect and use resources to build new structures, and perform dark rituals to appease the gods. IGN’s Cult of the Lamb review returned an 8/10. We said: “Cult of the Lamb is as adorable as it is unsettling, an eclectic mix of genres and themes that come together extremely well.”
Massive Monster was at the heart of September’s backlash against controversial policy changes at game engine maker Unity. Massive Monster threatened to delete the Unity-made Cult of the Lamb on January 1 were the changes to happen. Unity subsequently apologised and made changes, and CEO John Riccitiello subsequently stepped down.
