Marvel's Avengers Dataminer Finds Scrapped Plans for She-Hulk and Captain Marvel

A Marvel's Avengers dataminer has seemingly found scrapped plans to add both She-Hulk and Captain Marvel to the game.

Community insider Miller on Twitter (below) shared unused dialogue hidden within Patch 2.7.2 (that was released on January 24) in which Jane Foster interacts with She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters) and Capatin Marvel (Carol Danvers).

The dialogue for these two characters was fully written but only appeared in the game files as text-to-speech voices, though a Marvel's Avengers streamer leaked that at least some of She-Hulk's dialogue had already been recorded back in July.

The conversations are available in full, however, and include various references to other heroes intended as banter between characters in the Outpost hub areas.

Jane mentions to Jennifer that Thor and Bruce Banner had challenged them to a fight, for example, as the two Thors versus the two Hulks with Captain America as the judge. Another instance sees Jennifer propose an Avengers softball team, as she used to play on one at her law firm before quitting for "obvious reasons".

As for Captain Marvel's dialogue, Carol asks Jane if Asgardians are aliens or gods, to which she replies "yes". The two also joke about a race to Egypt between Captain Marvel and Thor, and set up their own to Saturn and back. The other conversations can be seen in the full thread from Miller.

Developer Crystal Dynamics announced the ending of support for Marvel's Avengers alongside the patch notes, meaning She-Hulk and Captain Marvel will never be released as playable characters.

The game launched in 2020 to a lacklustre response from critics and fans, and struggled to gain traction since despite regular updates from Crystal Dynamics.

In our 6/10 review, IGN said: "Marvel's Avengers' campaign is fun and endearing, but the loot-based post-game meant to be the meat of this meal is unrewarding and overly repetitive."
