Creative Assembly Investigating Allegations of Abuse Within the Studio

Total War developer Creative Assembly has announced it is opening an investigation into "deeply concerning and serious allegations regarding a former CA employee."

In a statement posted to its Twitter account today, Creative Assembly said it was investigating the situation through a third party. In a follow-up tweet, it encouraged other former employees to share experiences via a dedicated whistleblowing email address.

Though Creative Assembly itself did not specify the nature of the allegations, a number of tweets over the last week have spoken up about bullying, harassment, and abuse at the studio either experienced firsthand or heard about, with at least one specific culprit being named by multiple people.

Creative Assembly's investigation comes as part of a much larger wave of individuals coming forward about abusive industry work cultures in recent years.

Most notably has been the ongoing wave of allegations against Activision Blizzard, though companies such as Team17, Bungie, Ubisoft, Funomena, Mountains, and Fullbright have undergone similar reckonings over the last year and change.
