Ex-Battlefield Devs' New Shooter Is Called The Finals - Gamescom Opening Night Live

Embark, a new studio created by ex-Battlefield developers, has teased The Finals, a new competitive shooter.

Described as "a shooter wrapped in a game show format," The game got the briefest of teases, but we saw gunplay, environmental destruction, and a sword hitting a man so hard that he explodes into coins. A full reveal is coming later in September.

"We invite you to virtual arenas based on iconic real-world locations that contestants can alter, exploit, and even destroy in chaotic PvP matches," reads a press release. "Add a tremendous variety of skills and weapons to the mix, and you will be able to craft your own unique contestant with your very own loadout, playstyle, and look."

The tease has been made to encourage fans to sign up to playtest the game, with a website allowing you to register now.

Oddly, we knew about Embark's second game before its first. We'd previously seen third-person sci-fi shooter Arc Raiders, but it was delayed into 2023 to make way for this game.
