Kojima Productions Is Selling an Anti-War Charity Item to Support Ukrainian Refugees

Editor's Note: The war in Ukraine is an ongoing, painful and emotive topic. IGN urges community members to be respectful when engaging in conversation around this subject and does not endorse harassment of any kind.

Kojima Productions is now selling anti-war merchandise to support Ukrainian refugees.

After the invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the games industry has been quick to offer its support, with numerous game developers responding to Russia’s military action. Ukrainian deputy prime minister Mykhailo Fedorov even called upon Xbox, PlayStation, and all game developers to temporarily stop support for Russia and Belarus. Now, Kojima - who has often featured anti-war messages in his games - is putting his money where his mouth is.

The new “Ludens Peace Mark Unit” is essentially a charm in the shape of a peace symbol with a large, buckled strap, and is on sale right now over at Kojima’s official website.

“This is an original charm made of duralumin featuring the peace mark-shaped buckle of ‘LUDENS’, the symbolic character of Kojima Productions,” reads the product listing. “It comes with a strap hole and a strap so you can attach it to your car or house keys, bags, pouches, etc.”

Kojima Productions confirms that all proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated directly to those who have been evacuated from Ukraine to Japan.

The charm is expected to ship in August 2022, with Kojima Productions currently taking pre-orders.

Kojima Productions recently announced a partnership with Xbox, which is allowing Hideo Kojima to make a game he has “always” wanted to make.

“It's a completely new game that no one has ever experienced or seen before,” he revealed. “I've waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it.”

Elsewhere, Ukrainian game developers continue to persevere despite their life and work being turned upside down during Russia’s invasion of the country. Stalker 2 Developer GSC Game World also shared a moving look at their lives and work in Ukraine.
