The Matrix Awakens demo created on Unreal Engine 5 may have been created for one pop-culture franchise, but that hasn't stopped modders from adding other favorites like Spider-Man to its world.
As reported by Eurogamer, YouTuber DWR shared footage of a playable Spider-Man demo - which you can see here - set in the Megacity created for The Matrix Awakens demo that was created by using Lewis Fiford's UE4 Spider-Man Project. As one would expect, the demo - which you can download here - allows you to swing around like Spidey and even wall-run on the city's many buildings.
DWR notes that the demo is "a heavy load" and will come with some frame rate drops, but it does give a glimpse of what the future of Spider-Man could look like on UE5.
The Spider-Man demo follows a similar mod from TJATOMICA that stars Superman and allows players to fly through the city as Superman would.
The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience was released in December 2021, and is an impressive showcase that teases the potential of the new engine that is now available.
Hopefully, this glimpse of the future of Spider-Man will help make the wait for Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 a little easier, which is set to arrive on PS5 in 2023.
