EA Play to Be Broadcast in June

EA has announced that it will broadcast a digital-only version of its yearly EA Play showcase on June 11 – and we'll be covering the show live as an IGN Summer of Gaming event. Beginning at 4pm Pacific / 7pm Eastern (that's midnight or 9am on June 12 for the UK and AEST respectively), EA says the show will showcase "games through a live broadcast, community content, and more." 200429_EA_PlayLive_announce_still_01The company hasn't specified any games coming in the showcase, but we can likely expect first looks at its annual sports franchises such as Madden and FIFA, and we may get a glimpse at the next-gen Battlefield game coming in 2021. There's also the small matter of Project Maverick, the mystery Star Wars game that seemingly leaked in March. EA Play is just one of the events in the IGN Summer of Gaming calendar, which will include broadcasts, announcements and news from the likes of CD Projekt Red, Sega, Square Enix and many more.
